Privacy policy

podsearch.org is operated by Technical Partners ("we"). This page explains what the site stores, what third parties are involved, and the choices you have. There are no user accounts, and we do not sell personal information.
Stored on your device
The site uses your browser's localStorage, not cookies, to remember your theme, your chosen country, your search preferences, and the shows and topics in your Library. This data stays on your device; we never receive it. Clearing your browser's site data removes it. A service worker caches pages and API responses so the site loads faster and works offline.
What our servers record
- Search queries. We keep the text of search queries and how many results they returned, to improve search and show trending topics. The query is not stored with your IP address or any identifier.
- Classification requests. When you ask us to label shows as machine-generated, we keep a salted one-way hash of your IP address to apply a daily fair-use limit. The address itself is not stored.
- Data extract purchases. Payments are handled by Stripe. We receive and keep your email address and order details so we can deliver the file. We never see your card number. See Stripe's privacy policy.
Hosting and network
The site is served through Cloudflare, which processes your IP address and request details to deliver pages and protect against abuse. We use the country Cloudflare reports to pick which local charts to show you. See Cloudflare's privacy policy.
Podcast audio and artwork load directly from each podcast's host, which receives your IP address under its own policy.
Advertising and cookies
We use Google AdSense to show ads. Google and other third-party vendors use cookies to serve ads based on your previous visits to this and other websites. Google's advertising cookies let it and its partners show you ads based on those visits.
- You can turn off personalized ads in Google's Ads Settings, or opt out of many third-party vendors at aboutads.info.
- Learn how Google uses information from sites that use its services.
- Visitors in the European Economic Area, the UK and Switzerland are asked for consent before personalized ads or advertising cookies are used, and can change that choice at any time.
Your choices and rights
You can use the site without giving us any personal information. Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct or delete personal data we hold, such as a purchase email. Email us and we will respond within 30 days.
Children
podsearch is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their personal information.
Changes
We will update the date at the top of this page when this policy changes.
