Achara and Philip visit the beautifully gentle and deeply relatable world of Piku — a film that turns a simple father-daughter journey into an emotional, humorous, and unexpectedly profound experience. As they dive into its warm storytelling, subtle humor, and heartfelt moments, the duo reflects on how the movie captures everyday life with honesty, charm, and a whole lot of heart. Directed by Shoojit Sircar (Vicky Donor, October), Piku stars Deepika Padukone (Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani, Chennai Express), Amitabh Bachchan (Paa, Black), and Irrfan Khan (The Lunchbox, Talvar) in performances that feel both effortless and unforgettable. The supporting cast—including Moushumi Chatterjee (Balika Badhu, Goynar Baksho) and Raghuvir Yadav (Lagaan, Peepli Live)—adds depth and warmth to this slice-of-life gem. With its mix of humor, frustration, love, and life’s messy realities, Piku remains a heartfelt journey that resonates long after the credits roll. Dark, immersive, and unrelenting, Lokha: Chapter 1 sets the stage for a franchise that’s just getting started. Buckle up — this world is not for the faint-hearted. ____________________ Thank you to our Jamazing Patron: Krishna Venkataraman!
