Join Luke and Audrey as we travel back to the very beginning of the Marvel Cinematic Universe with our THOR (2011) | Movie REACTION! | Marvel Studios. Today on Galaxy Geeks, we’re revisiting Phase 1 of the MCU and reacting to Chris Hemsworth’s first appearance as Thor, the God of Thunder, in this iconic Marvel origin story. In this Thor (2011) movie reaction, we break down the Shakespearean family drama that launched one of Marvel’s most important heroes. From Thor and Loki’s rivalry to Tom Hiddleston’s unforgettable debut as Loki, this film lays the groundwork for everything that leads to The Avengers. Watching Thor lose his powers, struggle on Earth, and attempt to lift Thor’s hammer, Mjolnir, remains one of the most powerful superhero arcs in the MCU. We react to some of the most memorable moments in the movie, including Thor failing to lift the hammer in the rain, the various characters who try (and fail) to pick up Mjolnir, and the moment Thor finally proves himself worthy. Seeing who tries to lift Thor’s hammer—and how Thor himself reacts—adds so much emotional weight to this classic Marvel movie. This reaction also dives into the deeper Marvel lore, the early MCU teases (including a quick Hawkeye cameo), and how Thor (2011) connects to future films like The Avengers and even The Hulk. We discuss Thor’s relationship with Jane Foster, his complicated bond with Odin, and how Loki’s arc begins here before becoming one of the MCU’s greatest villains. Whether you’re rewatching Thor 2011, discovering it again through a first-time style movie reaction, or just love revisiting early Marvel Studios films, this reaction is packed with commentary, nostalgia, and MCU insights.
