Just One Thing: The Only Criterion for Inclusion | Mark 3:1–35 (Week 11)

From UnstoppableRevKev · 53:21

Show by Kevin M. Kelley

What makes someone part of Jesus’ family? Religious knowledge, church attendance, ministry credentials—or something far more revealing? In Week 11 of our Gospel of Mark sermon series, Pastor Kevin at Big Island Christian Church walks through Mark 3:1–35, tracing the growing opposition to King Jesus. The Pharisees plot with the Herodians to destroy Him. Crowds press in for miracles. Demons recognize His identity. Judas receives a place among the Twelve. Even Jesus’ own family questions His ministry. Against this backdrop, Jesus identifies the defining characteristic of His true family: “Whoever does the will of God, they are My brother and sister and mother.” In this message, we explore: • Jesus healing on the Sabbath and exposing hardened hearts. • The difference between seeking Jesus’ blessings and surrendering to His authority. • Why knowing about Jesus and participating in ministry cannot substitute for genuine faith. • Jesus’ authority over Satan and His warning about blasphemy against the Holy Spirit. • What doing God’s will reveals about our relationship with Christ. Salvation is not earned through obedience. Genuine saving faith, however, manifests in joyful obedience, surrender, and worship—a life devoted to Christ and the advancement of His kingdom. Are we doing the will of God as revealed in Scripture—or pursuing our own will with a Jesus sticker slapped on it?
