On this week’s episode of The IX Sports Podcast: College Basketball Edition, Michael Waterloo and Melissa Triebwasser are joined by a very special guest: Notre Dame women’s basketball head coach Niele Ivey! Coach Ivey joins us to break down what’s ahead for the Fighting Irish in an always competitive ACC. We dive into Hannah Hidalgo’s senior campaign, her growth on both ends of the floor, and the buzz surrounding her future at the next level. Coach also opens up about hitting the transfer portal for impact veterans like Madison St. Rose and Anaya Hardy, how she approaches balancing the portal with elite high school recruiting classes, and the art of preparing college athletes to thrive as pro-ready players in the WNBA. To wrap things up, we get into our quick-hitters, touching on Coach Ivey’s iconic sideline fits, her gameday superstitions, unforgettable memories cutting down the nets, and Arike Ogunbowale’s uncanny knack for hitting big-time buzzer-beaters. Make sure to like, subscribe, and tune in next week as we continue our conference previews by tackling the SEC! Hosted by Simplecast, an AdsWizz company.
