The White Sox will likely make offseason MODEST MOVES instead of making BOLD additions
From Locked On White Sox - Daily Podcast On The Chicago White Sox · 00:31:32
Show by Locked On Podcast Network, Jim Memolo
Chicago White Sox fans face another offseason of high hopes that will likely be tempered by more modest additions. With major free agent signings and blockbuster trades seeming unlikely, host Todd Welter and Besnik Zekiri of OnTapsSportsNet.com discuss how the club may instead target mid-tier options or explore the Japanese pitching market to get value and intrigue. The conversation explores whether Colson Montgomery can rebound offensively, the ongoing need for power and contact hitters alongside Miguel Vargas, and the importance of depth after a remarkably healthy 2026 season. Insights include the White Sox’s smart poaching from successful clubs like the Rays, Brewers, and Dodgers, plus the looming uncertainty of MLB’s salary floor and potential labor disruptions in 2027. Can the Southsiders retool enough to contend, or will modest moves leave them short again?00:00 Setting White Sox Offseason Expectations04:42 Exploring Japanese Free Agents & Rotation Needs14:32 Analyzing Roster Depth & Trade TargetsSupport Us By Supporting Our Sponsors!IndeedListeners of this show get a $75 Sponsored Job Credit to help give your job the premium placement it deserves at http://Indeed.com/podcast.
