Two detectives, Sam Murphy and Bill Smith, are hired by the aged Joshua Crawford, who lives alone in a lonely mansion on a hill. Crawford says seven men murdered his daughter and son-in-law years earlier and that he has set a trap for them using jewels kept in a cellar vault. He offers the detectives the jewels if they help him punish the men he has named.
