The Matthew Biblical Exposition series you are now listening to consists of twenty-eight chapters and is divided into six volumes. This first volume covers Matthew chapters one through four. The content is organized by topic and divided into three sections: Biblical Exposition, Sermon, and Questions and Answers. The four Gospels record the ministry of Jesus, who came into this world, called His disciples, preached the gospel of the kingdom of heaven with them, and saved sinners. Matthew chapters 1–4 testify that He is the promised King and Savior, through the genealogy and birth of Jesus, the ministry of John the Baptist, the baptism and temptation of Jesus, and the proclamation of the gospel of the kingdom of heaven and the calling of the disciples. At the center of these accounts is the baptism of Jesus recorded in Matthew 3:13–17. Through this baptism, all the sins of the world were passed on to Jesus, the Holy Spirit came down upon Him, and God the Father testified that He was His beloved Son. Jesus received on the Cross the judgment for the sins He had borne and rose again to complete salvation. Believe in this gospel of the water and the Spirit with your heart, receive the remission of all sins, and discover the joy and freedom that the children of God enjoy. ● Scripture quotations used in this book are from the ‘New King James Version (NKJV)’, ‘American Standard Version (ASV)’. ● This audiobook is an original human creation based on the sermons of Rev. Paul C. Jong. To provide clear delivery and a comfortable listening experience, AI technology was employed only for the voice generation.

- General Introduction
The consistent tradition handed down from the early church regards the author of the Gospel of Matthew as the Apostle Matthew, one of the twelve disciples. Church tradition has regarded Matthew the tax collector in Matthew 9:9 and Levi in Mark 2:14 and Luke 5:27 as the same person. However, since…

- Ch01_04_Sermon_Jesus Christ, the Savior of the world
The One whom God the Father sent to this earth as the Savior who would save us mankind from sin is Jesus Christ. To save us human beings, God the Father did not send an angel, nor did He send any other capable creature. To save us, God the Father sent His own Son Jesus Christ as our Savior. God…
- Ch01_05_Sermon_The genealogy of Jesus Christ, which one can enter only by faith
Among the four Gospels, the Gospel of Matthew comes first. Matthew 1:1 says, “The book of the genealogy of Jesus Christ, the Son of David, the Son of Abraham.” And the reason the genealogy is read on down from verse 2 is to tell how the genealogy of Jesus Christ unfolded and who came into that…
- Ch01_06_Sermon_The Lord who has let us meet the real truth in this age like the age of Solomon
In this present age, those who believe in the gospel of the water and the Spirit as we do are people who have received a great blessing from heaven. Looking at this Word and looking at this age, I myself truly thank and thank God. Matthew chapter 1 says, the book of the genealogy of Jesus Christ…
- Ch01_07_Sermon_Even after the captivity in Babylon, the genealogy of salvation continued
When we read the genealogy of Matthew chapter 1, the word “begot” continues on and on. So some people think of this Word as a monotonous record where only names follow one another. But if we look closely, a very heavy event lies at the very center of this genealogy. It is the phrase “about the…
- Ch01_08_Sermon_Jesus has brought us the true food and salvation
Christmas has come, but the whole world, far from leaping for joy, is chilly. Everyone is full of worry and anxiety. It seems many people attend church and then quit, and there are also many who move from this church to that church. So various ministers of the world’s churches are saying that…
- Ch01_09_Sermon_Jesus, who came in a sinless body and gave us everlasting life
When people think of the birth of Jesus, they first call to mind the manger, the star, the angels, and the shepherds. But rather than dressing the birth of Jesus up as a beautiful scene, the Gospel of Matthew states plainly how He was conceived and why He came. It says, “That which is conceived in…

- Ch02_04_Sermon_Offer gold, frankincense, and myrrh to God
In the days of Herod the king, Jesus was born in Bethlehem of Judea. Bethlehem is the name of a very small district within the nation of Israel. When Jesus was born on this earth, wise men from the East came all the way to Jerusalem and asked, “Where is He who has been born King of the Jews? For…
- Ch02_05_Sermon_God works according to His planned providence
Today is December 25, the day people call Christmas. In fact, in worldly terms this was the day when people used to serve the sun god. Constantine the Great of ancient Rome was the man who united Rome, then divided into East and West, through war and became emperor, and he issued the Edict of…

Herod lorded it as king over Judea with the power of Rome behind him. He tried to kill the baby Jesus in order to keep his own throne. Seen with man’s eyes, Herod was a strong king who could move soldiers with one command, and the baby Jesus looked like a frail being who had to be protected in His…
