Filmmaker Jennifer Sey takes you behind the scenes of Generation Covid, her documentary exploring the impact of COVID-19 pandemic policies and prolonged school closures on children and families across America. Through her personal story and the families whose lives she followed, Jennifer reveals how the film came together—and what it cost to tell these stories. From raising her own children in San Francisco during the pandemic to challenging school closures, navigating media scrutiny, and leaving her corporate career, Jennifer shares the moments that shaped her decision to make the film. She also reflects on how the media, political leaders, and American society responded to COVID-19, why families struggled to have their voices heard, and what happened to the children caught in the middle. Generation Covid: Behind The Story is a candid look at the people, experiences, and difficult conversations behind the documentary. Discover the story behind the filmmaking, hear from the perspective of the person who lived it, and explore why the consequences of the pandemic response still matter today.
