WE'RE BACK… AND WE'VE GOT OPINIONS! Welcome to the relaunch of It's Not the Book — the only podcast where the body count is high, our standards are even higher, & absolutely nobody is safe from our opinions. Each week, we dive headfirst into horror, thrillers, fantasy, contemporary fiction, romance, & dark romance. "Why choose" one genre when you can have murder, magic, mayhem, questionable love interests, & a little spice all in one place? Expect sharp commentary on plot holes, side-eye for characters who hear strange noises in the basement & STILL decide to investigate, & heated debates about which one of us would survive the first act. (Spoiler: We're GenX. We were raised on horror movies. We know better than to go upstairs.) We're here to question everything, celebrate the twists, roast the ridiculous, defend our fictional favorites, & say what everyone else is probably thinking. No literary snobbery. No sugarcoating. No participation trophies for poorly written characters. Definitely no guarantee we'll agree! We're bringing the GenX attitude, the unfiltered commentary, the occasional tangent, & absolutely no F*CKS given about pretending to like a book just because everyone else does. If you love your books dark, your plot twists messy, your romance spicy, your characters questionable, & your conversations completely unfiltered… LOCK YOUR DOORS, GRAB YOUR BOOKS, AND JOIN US. We survived the '80s & '90s....we can certainly survive a fictional haunted house.
