The Truth That Frees: Baptism’s Gift, Not a Passcode
From Holy Spirit Sermons · 10:22
Show by Holy Spirit Lutheran Church
On Reformation Sunday and Confirmation Sunday, Senior Pastor Shari Duminy reflects on Jesus’ promise in John 8: “the truth will make you free.” She names how easily we slip into a kind of slavery—measuring our worth by performance, approval, and the pressure to prove we belong. With baptism at the center, this sermon proclaims God’s love and freedom as pure gift. You don’t earn your place at God’s table; in Christ you already have it—free to breathe, to live boldly, to love your neighbors, and to remember who you are in God’s constant arms. The introduction and closing use an AI-generated voice.
