The Mission of St. John of Capistrano
From Fr. Miguel’s Shrine Homilies · 00:12:46
Show by Franciscan Missionaries of the Eternal Word
Have you ever wondered why God placed you in this particular time in history? In this homily, Fr. Miguel reflects on the remarkable life of St. John of Capistrano, a lawyer and governor who left behind his worldly position to become a Franciscan priest and one of the Church's great preachers and reformers. Living during a period of tremendous turmoil, corruption, division, and declining faith, St. John became an instrument of renewal, bringing people back to God and strengthening the Church. Fr. Miguel reminds us that God has also called each of us for this present moment, with a specific mission and purpose. Whether through our families, workplaces, communities, or everyday encounters, we are called to be witnesses of Christ, lights in the darkness, and salt of the earth. Drawing on the teachings of St. Paul and Mother Angelica, he challenges us to live in the present moment, faithfully embracing our duties and responsibilities with humility, gentleness, and patience. God has placed us here and now for a reason. Our task is to be faithful to the mission He has given us.
