Will You Acknowledge Christ When It Matters Most?
From Fr. Miguel’s Shrine Homilies · 00:09:16
Show by Franciscan Missionaries of the Eternal Word
In this homily, Fr. Miguel reflects on the courageous witness of St. Ignatius of Antioch, the early Church bishop and martyr who remained faithful to Christ even in the face of death. Drawing from the Gospel's call to acknowledge Jesus before others, he explores St. Ignatius's extraordinary devotion to the Eucharist, his detachment from worldly things, and his willingness to give his life for the Lord. Fr. Miguel also reminds us that while we may never face the red martyrdom of shedding our blood for Christ, we are all called to a daily "white martyrdom" through the struggles, sacrifices, and crosses of ordinary life. Inspired by Mother Angelica's teaching on actual grace, he encourages us to live faithfully in the present moment, trusting that God will give us the grace we need when we need it. When we acknowledge Christ throughout our lives, He will acknowledge us before the angels of God.
