On the Feast of St. Margaret Mary Alacoque, Fr. Miguel reflects on the intense revelations of the Sacred Heart of Jesus. St. Paul longs for all of us to know “the love of Christ that surpasses knowledge.” St. Margaret Mary was chosen to make that love known to the world.Jesus told her that His Heart is so inflamed with love for mankind that He can no longer contain its flames. Yet what He often receives in return is coldness, indifference, and contempt — something He said is more grievous to Him than all He endured in His Passion.Fr. Miguel connects this to St. Teresa of Avila’s famous line “Solo Dios basta” (God alone suffices) and invites us to respond with reparation: thanking God for His mercy, offering our prayers (including the Divine Mercy Chaplet) in atonement for our own past negligence and for the ingratitude of others.A moving call to grow in love of the Sacred Heart so that one day we can truly say, “The Lord is my shepherd; there is nothing I shall want.”St. Margaret Mary, pray for us.
